Happy mother's day!

Yes, here in Canada it's Mother's day! I've been spoiled with a nice breakfast and my biggest happiness, a handmade card that Billie did for me at day care.

The day couldn't get better when we met my parents for brunch. So happy to spend this special day with my mom and my daughter. Hope Billie and I will be as close as my mom and I always been.

Happy mother's day! Hope you also have been spoiled today. You all deserve it so much!

Billie and food

Since Billie started eating food, at the age of 5 months, she has been very picky and complicated about it. Jonas and I love food and all kind. We like to try new things and varies our meals. Before I got pregnant, when I was talking about my future kids, I used to say that they would never be picky like some other kids I know. They would eat and try everything because I'll teach them. Well, life is teaching me something here because my daughter is very picky and she is only 10 months old!

Maybe she is just very young but most of my friends babies love trying food and can't wait to eat on their own. Billie got stucked at eating cereals and mash food. As soon as we offer her pieces, she doesn't like it. She can't swallow them. It usually makes her feel sick. If  we try putting some on the table for her, well, she plays with them and have no interest to put the little pieces in her mouth. We still try everyday and yes, some days are better than others.

Billie loves eating eggs, fruits (mashed), cube of small cream cheese and corn cereals. It's not all we give her to eat! Don't worry but we have to have one of these on the menu to make sure she gets her belly full.

This is a very stressful situation for all the family. Imagine the feeling of having a hard time feeding your baby. Jonas and I get discourage sometimes. I'm also scared Billie will think eating is not fun. My mom is telling not to worry. Apparently I was the same as a baby and I am not picky at all for food. So that makes me feel better. People gives us tricks, we try them but nothing as been successful so far.

How's meal time for you at home?

Smallable wishlist- Bodysuit Bobo Choses Lapin

I really like the brand BOBO CHOSES. The colors they use in their collections, the fun details and mostly the cute prints. I usually don't like prints for tees or any basics. I like to keep these simple. SMALLABLE is offering a BOBO CHOSES print bodysuit that Billie and I seriously can't resist. The little rabbit is too cute and fit perfectly the style of this summer bodysuit.

I can see Billie wearing this one with a cute pair of black shorts this summer. Can't wait for the warm weather to come so we can actually start wearing our summer clothes again! It's been hard to go back to shoes and denim after spending one week in sandals and dresses...

Doing things on her own

Billie is 10 months going on 11 in less than 2 weeks. She now enjoy more than anything doing things on her own. It started when she realised she could walk. Since then, she has been Billie the explorer. She fell and got hurt few times but still get up and try again. She is working hard so one day she could be independant.

It's very cute to see her going. I love just taking time to observe her and let her go her own way.

Yesterday was an important day for her as she started leaving the walls or chairs she was holding on to walk on her own. It made me realized how time is flying with a baby in the house. I feel that she was just born. She used to be so small, calm and dependant of us.

It's beautiful to see her evolve but a bit sad to put these precious moments in the past already. I wish I could pause time right now and enjoy to the fullest everything that is happening in her life.

I'm so happy and feel so privilege that life put her on my path. I'm proud to be her mother and hope more than anything in the world that we will keep a special connection for the rest of our lives.

ETSY FINDS- the Anecdotes

Billie and I feel a bit better... It has been 3 horrible days. It's hard to take care of a sick little one when you are sick yourself... Billie ended up with an ear infection. Now she is much better. She got antibiotics :( and we are back to our normal routine... dreaming of the weekend to relax a little bit.

This week ETSY FINDS is from a store called THE ANECDOTES. I don't remember at all how I found this store but all I know is that it has been in my favorites since a long time and I haven't purchase anything yet from them. I can never take a decision on which sweater I want to buy for Billie. They are all so beautiful!

I love the big buttons in these last two sweater. Nice detail that we don't see so often on babies clothes.

How cute are these side buttons on this sweater? Amazing idea. Fun detail.

What I like about their products is that they have simple lines with fun accents. Each pieces are unique and handmade. Some people have talent! Wish I could knit. I'm not patient enough to knit more than a scarf...

So, which one should I get for Billie?!?

Sick

Billie and I are sick... that's why the lack of posts... It so hard to see this little one weak and sick. It breaks my heart.

We will come back with more fun post when we feel better...

:-(

we also ♥ music- Big girls don't cry

This song used to make Billie laugh SO much when she was about 2-3 months. I was taking her arms and making her dance on it while singing. She thought it was hilarious! When you're a parent, the best thing in life is to hear your baby laugh. It goes directly to your heart... So, you do it over and over again!
