First Steps

Here's what happened in the last few days...
Billie did her first steps at 9 1/2 months. It's almost been 2 weeks now that she is been practicing like this. She is slowly leaving the furniture or our hands to go on her own. She is so good and as a mom, well, I'm so proud!

Smallable wishlist- L'Esprit de Luna Old pink Romper

I love the color BLACK but I think this summer my favorite color will be OLD PINK. I just keep falling in love with everything made with this color. This new obsession is as good for me as it is for Billie. On SMALLABLE, I found this very cute romper from l'ESPRIT DE LUNA. I remember how much I loved rompers for Billie last summer. That's why I think this one would be very useful and pretty at the same time.

What I love about rompers is that your daughter will grow with it. It's never too short and it's still very cute with tights and a cardigan. Billie has been wearing hers from last summer all  winter. Just buy it a bit bigger so the body will fit for a longer period of time.

Day Care Hunt

That's what I'm doing today. We HAVE to find a day care for our Billie. Well, she goes to day care now but it's only part time and Jonas is starting work pretty soon.

Finding a day care here in Montreal is mission impossible. Believe me, it's terrible. We check and email day care everyday from that website: http://www.magarderie.com but so far, all I get is negative answers. I feel that I'm now left with the worst day care in town to choose from.

Anyway, we managed to fix four visits today. We better find one. It's a real hunt. It's also very stressful to choose a place where your daughter will spend most of her days and that you can trust. And for those who have kids, you can understand that it's hard to trust people when it comes to your baby...

I'm pretty sure I almost emailed all these one marked on this google map. One should be our Billie's heaven right?

ETSY FINDS- Leaping Rabbits Mobile

Checking ETSY is part of my daily routine. Recently, I've found the most beautiful mobile that would fit perfectly in Billie's room. Sadly, she already owns a mobile... My husband wouldn't be so proud of me buying a second one so, I'll just dream I own it.

This mobile, from ARTISANIE EUROPE, is all about details. It's handmade with non-toxic clay and you can find on it 18 white rabbits and only one black. The copper-plated steel arches hang from rings that encourage the mobile to flow and move freely in the air.

Don't you get inspired for a nursery decoration just by looking at it? I do!

Charley Harper

Mike & Judy, just had their baby girl, Hale. She is beautiful. Congrats guys! Before they gave birth, they got us these amazing children books made with CHARLEY HARPER's illustrations.

CHARLEY HARPER is a wildlife illustrator from Cincinnati. He died in 2007. His wildlife art was created without the fuss and feathers. Minimal realism, he calls it. That's what I like about it, especially for kids. It still have all the colors the children likes with a bit of realism that makes every adults appreciate his art.

Billie loves her two CHARLEY HARPER's books. We used them a lot to learn her the animal's sounds or to look at for the bedtime story.

We also ♥ music- Big bird in a small cage

I used to play this song to Billie a lot when she was in my belly. I was putting the headphones directly on my belly and would play music to her. For some reason, I was really into this specific song at the time, so she heard it for sure a lot during her 9 months in there.

After she was born, everytime she was crying a lot and seemed in panic, I used to play her this song and it worked, it was calming her down. I don't know if she remembered the song but it made me very emotional to see the effect it had on her.

Park

Yesterday was warm again. We live by the water and next to a huge park so we decided to go and hang out there. It was full of kids. We tried the swing with Billie but it wasn't a success, she started crying right away. We now have all spring and summer to get her use to it!

We are leaving for Cuba in 4 days. Can't wait to not have to dress her with jackets and scarves and mostly, enjoy some time off with my family.
